Dear Diary,
Well, this is it then. It's hard to believe but this is the last CT that I'd be giving at IIT(BHU). I will have given 16 CT's then. Wow! that's huge, I guess. Enough for a lifetime perhaps.
I should actually be studying for my test now; I haven't made much of a head start yet. But I thought I'd maybe take some time out to write this to you. I can't help but get emotional about the fact that I won't be able to do any of the things that the CT's make us do, again. The last minute preparations, the classes by students turned professors, rushing to the stationary stores for photocopies, the combined studies in rooms and heated last minute discussions as though we've been doing a doctoral thesis on these topics. There won't be no more silent lobbies, no more people singing their versions of the songs to reduce stress, no more arriving one hour before the test to book seats in the class. There also won't be people flocking to the 'Maggus' for help, no more discussions in the canteen and many other things.
Yes, there are the End sems, but the CT's are a class apart. They come to you all of a sudden, they arrive unnoticed and catch you off guard. It is like today you're having fun and suddenly the burden of the CT's falls on you the next day. End sems are different. You get to know of their intimidating presence weeks before their arrival.
All this makes me nostalgic and takes me back to the first year, my arrival here, the initial days and my first exams. I don't think it's just me but everyone else here can feel the magnitude of change in themselves and in their lives over the last 4 years. I better not get too nostalgic. I've got an exam tomorrow and should get started with the preparation. I guess one thing is true with our exams: It's never too late to start off with your preparation. You only need the determination, the direction and the thirst for marks.
I've noticed this general trend in the branch. The number of days before the CT's when the branch suddenly becomes serious has come down over the years. Starting from about 10 days in the I year, it has dropped down linearly to 2 days now. The branch has only become serious yesterday.
Anyways,
Bye.
